Race Start

Sachsenring 2014: Abuzz start from pit stop
Strangest start in this decade so far. 14 riders started the race from pit stop because they changed their bike from wet setup bike to dry setup bike. Look! Just 9 riders start from the starting grid. What a lonely starting grid. Also amazing started from riders who started from the pit.

Motogp 500cc classic start: push start
One of the most interesting about motogp in past time is push start. You can find something interesting when you know some history.

Look pure Eddie Lawson in Le Mans 1985 start.

Start at Misano 2012: Red start lamp keep on.
First error bike incident at start. Rider number #17 had problem on his bike. Then he raised his hand so that it nos safe to start and the yellow light on with yellow flags. Some riders were looked confuse by accelerating their bike whereas it mean to keep their bike stop. What annoyed rider #35 who started from 3rd place.
Maybe some of riders didn't know the rule, also people in television, they think the start lamp could not light out (error).

Crazy red start lamp light out
Assen 1992. The track not clear yet but the start lamp light out and all riders started the race. There are two marshal, the first one just few milimeters from the race track road and the other one still ran on the race track when the light out, behind starting grid.

Wrong starting grid
Loris Capirossi would start in Casey Stoner grid in Estoril 2008. Stoner came up to his start position and Capirossi pushed his bike back to his right start position.

Crazy Spectators
Jerez 1996. What a reckless thing that had been ever done by spectators at circuit. So many people (spectators) came down into the run off area until the side of race track on the kerb. Maybe this could be fail celebration by spectators because their rider who lead before last corner crashed down in the last corner after overtook by an Australian. The australian could get closer to the spaniard in the crowd of the people.

Funny momment happened in FP3 Malaysian GP 2012 where Rossi pull marshall's uniform because the marshall suddenly brought out his Desmo.

 
Finish Line

Fail Celebration
1. Julian Simon, 125cc Catalunya 2009.

It started for last lap. The pit crue told their riders that still one more lap. But what happened? Because of it Julian Simon who lead the race thought that number 1 in his pit board mean he finished the race in first position. So he felt happy and made some celebration by raising his hand up several time and slowing his bike. Finally he realized it and must lost some position and finished in 4th place. He could get more shame if he stand in podium but not won the race. Video: watch on youtube

2. Alex Rins, Moto3 Brno 2014
Similar thing happened to Alex Rins in tight moto3 Brno 2014 race.

Again Julian Simon in action: pushed bike until crossed finish line

Julian Simon crash in the last corner before finish with Bradley Smith. Due to of crashed Simon's bike couldn't on again as Smith bike caould. But Simon didn't give up, he pushed his bike until the finish line and finished at 13 place also got applause from the spectators.

Assen 125cc race 2015. Good efford from Niklas Ajo that he still can hold his bike after big wobble, then crossed the finish line by way hanging his self on the side of his bike. Video: watch on youtube

Go ahead! Dont look behnind too much!
Reckless action by Johan Zarco. Last lap Misano 2011 125cc backstraight.

Zarco lead Terol when he made mistake by looking at behind too long which it made Nico Terol closer  and could overtake him in epic duel, also made him looked bit confuse because Terol also looked behind. The drama continued in last straight where Zarco (lead) felt he came out from the corner slower so he looked behind again at Terol and tried to prevent Terol overtook him by using his hand to hold Terol. But it not enough. Terol finally beat Zarco to win the race.

Rossi went to toilet.
Rossi celebrated his victory at Jerez 1999 by going into the toilet which located in the side of the circuit. He did it again in 2009.

Lorenzo and the Lake in Jerez.
Lorenzo favorite place to celebrate his victories at Jerez is in the lake where located in the middle of the circuit. 2010 first time he jumped into it. 2011 he did it again but  he swim there by slippering in the side of the lake because of wet condition. 2015 he would do it again but suddenly he turned back away from the lake when just few meters to jumped. He said that he wouldn't die in young age.

Compare Between Riding and Racing

Purpose
The purpose of racing is to become the fastest than the other.

The purpose of riding is using a motorcycle to going somewhere and arrive at destination (safely).

Riding Style
Motorcycle racer always uses extreme riding style which it is dangerous to try at public street. Full gas acceleration, full brake, extrem angel cornering, and very high consentration. The reason their riding style so extrem is to pass the corner as fast as possible. To doing it need a skill, training, and maximal effort in everytime. Sure, it will be very tiresome.

On riding we just need use safely riding style. Dont cornering extremely, dont brake suddenly and make hard brake because it can make other people on the street is shocked.
You also still need consentration and just keep calm. careful is needed too.

Track
The race track more regular. It dont have interrsection. All in one way and same direction. So it more regular. Futhermore it have some safety standar as space or run off area in the side of race track so you will not directly hit the wall if you out of way. Some people called marshal have already to help riders who have problem or need first aid.
Ussual street have various type. It can be asphalt, dirt, flat, bumpy, or other. The side of street can be space, grass, gravel, wall, river, or ravine. So, becarefull if you ride in the street!

Racing: helmet, wearpack, gloves, boots.
Riding: *helmet, *driving & vehicle license, jacket, boots, gloves, etc.

Rearview mirror
Mirror can be importan in public vehicle. Because of it we can know how the condition behind us and help us to make decision what we have to do.
The advantage of it is we can know the condition behind us without must turn back our head so we still can see to the front.
On motorcycle racing, dont use the mirror because can decrease the aerodinamyc. In addition the race track is just one way and no intersection so it is easier to predict the move of other rider.

Sport or not
Motorcycle racing is kind of motorsport. As ussual riding is not kind of sport.
You may be stonger, if you do motorsport correctly. It need maximal power and stamina. So it can train your body.
